As the title suggests, this is a work in progresss. I did the ‘drawing’ and spline work for this a little bit ago, and now it’s just the fun painting of it to be done. There’s something really satisfying about figuring out and rendering all the fun anatomical details in the eye. Zonule fibers, ciliary body and processes, canal of Schlemm …. ! The eye is a bit like a world in itself.

Last Friday I got a large piece of paper with both my name an lots of Latin on it — the Master of Science in Medical Illustration is official!  The plan now is to move to the Dallas/Denton area of Texas.  To that end I’m continuing the job search in earnest.

So what have I done on my first official day of unemployment? Went back to the studio, of course, and played around with modeling and rendering in Cinema 4D.  Your guess is as good as mine as to what these little spiky balls are:
